Recently, JinkoSolar Europe hosted an ESG-focused investor event in London yesterday, bringing together leaders from the solar industry, sustainability organisations, and the investment community to examine how transparency, ethical sourcing, and responsible innovation are shaping the future of global solar deployment.

As solar power becomes an increasingly essential pillar of the world’s energy system, the event reaffirmed that sustainability and supply-chain traceability are now fundamental to investor confidence and long-term sector growth.

JinkoSolar presented its comprehensive ESG roadmap, including its collaboration with the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) and the Global Solar Council (GSC). These initiatives support developers, EPCs, utilities, and investors by ensuring that sustainability, ethics, and transparency remain embedded throughout the manufacturing and supply-chain process.

The event featured insights from Sonia Dunlop, President of the Global Solar Council; David Hawkins, Senior VP ESG – Climate & Regulation Lead at NextEnergy Group; and Margaux Plurien, Project Officer at the Solar Stewardship Initiative. Together with the JinkoSolar team, they explored ethical supply chains, UK traceability standards, and the investment implications of stronger ESG frameworks.

Key Messages from the Event

  • Collaboration across the value chain is essential for achieving meaningful sustainability and traceability.
  • ESG progress is a continuous journey, requiring ongoing improvement from manufacturers, policymakers, and investors.
  • Established solar companies with mature supply chains—such as JinkoSolar—are best placed to implement reliable, verifiable traceability systems.
  • Europe and the UK are emerging as global leaders, driven by cooperation and industry-led solutions rather than regulation alone.
  • As battery energy storage rapidly expands, BESS suppliers must now align with the solar industry’s ESG standards, particularly as integrated solar-plus-storage platforms gain momentum with investors.

The event showcased the strong and growing interest among UK investors in transparent, responsibly sourced solar and storage solutions. JinkoSolar Europe will continue to champion industry collaboration to deliver sustainable, investor-ready clean energy systems across Europe.
